What Airbnb’s fee page says

Airbnb describes its service fees in help article 1857, “Airbnb service fees”. When we read it in September 2026, the article said:

  • Airbnb is “in the process of transitioning all home hosts to a single service fee structure”, and “the split-fee structure is being phased out”.
  • Under the single fee, “the entire fee is deducted from the host’s payout. Most hosts pay 15.5%”.
  • Under the split fee, “Most hosts pay a 3% service fee, but some pay more”, and “Guests pay a service fee ranging from 14.1% to 16.5% of the booking subtotal”.

How the calculator works

It compares what the same nights cost on each channel. On Airbnb, it applies the host fee for the fee type you choose to your nights at your nightly rate. On your own site, it applies card processing of about 3% to the same amount. The result is the difference between the two.

It is an estimate only. It covers your own direct guests, excludes taxes, and does not include Vadera’s setup or monthly price, which are on the pricing page.
